In the 1980’s a gentleman named Buddy Crowder came to the Noonday Baptist Association with a burden that the Dallas community would soon have a need for more churches. As someone who had been instrumental in starting churches in neighboring Cobb County, including Piedmont Church and Burnt Hickory Baptist, as well as others, he had a heart for meeting this need for people. Therefore, he purchased 17.75 acres on Old Cartersville Rd. in preparation for the launch of a new community oriented church.
Fast forward nearly twenty years and Noonday approached Mike Faulkner who had pastored Crestview Baptist Church in Marietta about the possibility of planting such a church. Not coincidentally, Mike knew Buddy Crowder because Crestview was the church Buddy attended as a child.
Thus in January of 2001 Mike and his family began to plant the seeds for the launch of NVBC in April of 2001 when we would begin meeting at Northside Elementary School.
In the near future, we plan to begin building a new worship area. God has already blessed this next phase of growth by providing our fellowship with the capacity to pay off the mortgage for our entire property. He has also made it possible for us to set aside funds that will support more than a third of the completed project.
Our prayer is that we can move into a new worship facility by 2026 that is debt free.
Pastor
In January 2001, Mike Faulkner and his family initiated preparations for the establishment of NVBC, which officially launched in April of that year. Since our inception, we have consistently endeavored to uphold our commitment to being a church deeply passionate about the gospel of Jesus Christ.
